Nokia 7510 Review - Entertainment, Internet and Storage

Entertainment

Through MegaTones, T-Mobile subscribers can download audio files and with HiFi Ringers, they can download song ring tones. Users can also download games and wallpaper from T-Mobile to customize their phones. With the micro-USB port and slot for a microSD card, users can transfer their files to the phone.

The Nokia 7510 from T-Mobile comes with demo versions of Midnight Pool 2, Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader and Pac Man/Ms. Pac Man, but users have to download the games if they want the full versions.

Compared to other carriers, T-Mobile's entertainment features are lacking. AT&T, Sprint and Verizon all tie online features to their handsets, costing extra fees. They offer their versions of music and video download services, GPS navigation and online gaming. While this is not necessarily a problem with the 7510, and more with T-Mobile, users nonetheless should be aware of the drawback.

Internet

With the built in Wi-Fi, users can connect to the Internet from home networks and T-Mobile HotSpots nationwide. They can access to email download games, music and other files on the go.

Unfortunately the handset does not have 3G high-speed Internet. T-Mobile is currently testing 3G in a few cities with a nationwide roll out sometime in the year. Much of the reason T-Mobile does not tie in entertainment features is because many require high-speed Internet to download songs and videos.

Storage

The 7510 comes with a measly 27MB of internal memory. Since the handset seems targeted at users who want a basic, well-made phone, the amount of storage space will not be as much of a downside as for a business person or someone who wants to save a lot of photo, video and music files on the phone.

Fortunately, users can expand the memory on the 7510 with a microSD card, which fits into a slot on the left side of the phone underneath the cover.
