The text messaging capabilities are very good. However, nowadays every
phone has the standard messaging features. MMS was once considered a luxury.
But every phone has SMS, EMS, MMS, and chat.
One important feature noticeably missing from the SGH-E715 is an email client.
However, it doesn't mean you won't be able to check email at all. Depending
on your service provider, the SGH-E715 will most likely send email through the
MMS client. But it is a far cry for POP3 and SMTP accounts.
The SGH-E715 has T9 predictive text input. So you don't have to type in ever
single character. Each letter you press automatically compares your keystrokes
with an internal linguistic dictionary to determine the correct word.
Overall the text messaging features are as good as it can be. But the
lack of email is a huge disappointment and may drive many potential users
away. T9 is will sure to speed up your typing. However the interlocking
keypad will make typing slightly awkward.
