Conclusion
After
all that's said and done, you'll notice the pros are big, while the cons
are big too. This usually happens when a phone is tailored to a particular
segment of the market. In this case, the SGH-S105 is for the personal market.
The vivid 65K color screen, realistic 16 instrument polyphonic ring tones,
and downloadable MIDlets already make this an incredible multimedia
package.
A business phone, the SGH-S105 is not. The major drawbacks to the phone are
its limited memory size, no voice dialing, email, and profiles, and inability
to synchronize with Outlook and Lotus Notes. With the 300 kb of internal
memory, you'll be deleting things constantly if you're installing new wallpaper,
ring tones, and MIDlets. With the SGH-S105's exceptional multimedia features,
you don't have much room to utilize it.
Voice dialing, profiles, and synchronization won't be a major concern
if you don't plan on using this phone for business purposes. However, if
you want to take this to work, it's not a particularly good phone to have.
You can't choose profiles for meetings, car driving, etc. While updating
your contacts means you'll have to use Samsung's organizer program.
Overall I would advise you to look elsewhere if you want a business phone.
However, for the personal phone, it has all the major multimedia features
that make a phone great. One thing we'd like to point out is the excellent
reception this phone gets regardless of whether you plan on using this for
personal or business. At the end of the day, the reason you're buying a
phone is to talk to people. Thus taking all these things into consideration
and weighing all the factors we give the Samsung SGH-S105 a rating of:
Above Average
It should be noted that this phone was particularly hard to rate. The
rating was taking everything into consideration, even business and personal
uses. However if you plan on using this phone for one environment exclusively
it could be an incredible, or disastrous, phone. The range is pretty wide.
