Connectivity
Allowing
consumers to connect wirelessly to Bluetooth-compatible accessories, the
Samsung T629 comes integrated with Bluetooth 1.2 technology. With a radial
range of 10 meters, users who purchase Bluetooth adapters, headsets, and
other accessories can pair wirelessly. Almost commonplace among wireless
devices today, unfortunately more advanced protocols such as A2DP (Advanced
Audio Distribution Profile) for music streaming are not supported.
Conclusion
With manufacturers looking to create compact devices without sacrificing
functionality, sliders provide a sleek twist to the conventional clamshell.
But the T629's design can be frustrating for users with smaller grips.
The 1.3-megapixel lens, while average among camera phones today, offers
consumers with the bare minimal to make print-quality photos. Fortunately
the MP3 Player fairs a bit better with the addition of a microSD slot, giving
users the ability to store tracks on external memory cards. And using EDGE,
consumers can download and connect to the Internet to transfer data, applications,
games, and media.
However compared to the high-end devices on the market, the T629 is far
from cutting-edge. Most camera phones routinely run upwards of 2.0- to 3.2-megapixels,
music phones offer Bluetooth stereo sound for wireless audio streaming,
and data devices run on Cingular's newest HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet
Access) or Verizion and Sprint's respective EV-DO (Evolution-Data Optimized)
high-speed networks.
Regardless, the T629 is priced as a mid-level devices. And considering
most high-end devices cost several hundred more, the T629 offers an excellent
value for the price point. For consumers who want a stylish device with
functions in imaging, audio, and connectivity without having to spend more
than necessary, the T629 is an ideal choice.
