Conclusion
The
Samsung T809 is for fashion consumers who want to stand out from the crowd.
With an innovative slide design and ultra-thin profile, the T809 is unlike
any other device on the market today.
Its sleek design alone should be enough to draw consumers, but the T809
also features one of the best LCDs to date. Brilliant for video viewing
and camera functionality, the 262K-color display is the foundation to superb
multimedia features.
However, a few gripes bring down the T809's appeal. First, the battery
life is a bit on the short side. Lacking a built-in flash, blurring is a
problem in low-light conditions. Also being only able to rotate 180 degrees
downwards, into the hinge, only front and back angles are unblocked for
picture taking. Missing voice services is questioned as well. With the T809
classified as a high-end device, something as basic as voice dialing being
left out is baffling.
While the design is exceptional, being molded of plastic rather than
metal-alloy (as the MM-A900 made from) is disappointing. Considerably less
rigid, albeit more lightweight, the T809 feels more flimsy in comparison.
Regardless, having unmatched design and robust audio and imaging capabilities,
the T809 is a top performer on T-Mobile's line-up. Integrating a 1.3-megapixel
camera and MP3 player, supported by TransFlash memory cards, the T809 is
well-classified as a mobile accessory for those who enjoy gadgetry, best
suited for consumers with equally fashionable lifestyles.
