Basic Features
The C905a's user interface is simple and intuitive. It uses a 12 icons
grid layout with animated icons that launch common features such as the
address book, messaging, settings, Web browser, GPS, camera, music and Yellow
Pages.
Additionally, the phone has a speakerphone with access to conference
calling, voice dialing and voice commands.
Basic tools include a calculator, an alarm clock and stopwatch. The personal
organizer includes a calendar, a task function to remind users to do certain
tasks, notes and a password saver.
The C905a also has a built-in GPS receiver with AT&T Navigator and Google
Maps to calculate its position using satellite signals.
The handset is rated for up to 3.5 hours of talk time and 14.6 days of
standby. The phone lacks a 3.5mm jack for a headset, so users will have
to rely on Bluetooth wireless headsets.
Screen
The C905a's bright, scratch resistant screen ranks on the high end of
screens on many of AT&T's lineup and in the medium range for resolution.

Its 2.4-inch LCD displays 262K-colors at a 240 x 320 px resolution --
adequate for most functions on the phone. A larger screen would be ideal
for Web surfing, but the C905's main purpose is taking photos -- and the
display is well-suited for photo viewing.
Superior to most basic phones, the C905a's screen is much smaller than
many smartphones on the market today such as the iPhone's 3.5-inch touch
screen.
Audio
Music
coming from the C905a is loud and clear. Its music player has an equalizer
and Mega Bass, so users can fine tune sound to their liking.
Users can also create playlists and access audio books and podcasts.
AT&T's eMusic Mobile allows customers to download up to five songs per month
if they subscribe to the service for a $7.49 monthly charge, while for the
same price Napster Mobile allows users to download five songs a month from
a library of more than 7 million songs.
Users can also subscribe to XM Radio. The C905a supports the following
MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+ and eAAC+ audio formats.
As with other Sony Ericsson phones, the C905a integrates an FM radio
with Radio Data System -- which connects to an online data base to identify
a track playing on the radio. However, users will need to purchase a separate
headset to take advantage of the FM radio because the headset functions
as the radio antenna.
With Music DJ, users can compose their own ringtones. They can also use
the phone to record a voice memo or a phone call.
