CommuniCam   Take digital pictures with the built in camera. In this mode, the screen becomes a digital viewfinder.
Online Services   Access the services that your ISP makes available to you.
Connections   Set the way you communicate between your phone and other devices. Choose between Bluetooth, infrared, and cable.

This might seem like a pretty common list for a supposedly powerful phone but we're just scratching the surface here. Also, many of the commonly used applications such as messages, contacts, call list, and calendar can be quickly accessed though the shortcut buttons shown on the phone's main screen.

The P800 uses a Symbian operating system, version 7.0. However the phone itself uses its own menu structure, icons and other additions.

The P800 operates in one of two modes: the phone mode (Flip Closed) and a full-screen mode (Flip Open). When the flip is closed, users only see the date, time, signal level, battery level, and the most used application.

This is the meat of the phone. Anything you can do with the phone, you'll be able to do from the applications menu. (Both flip closed and flip open).

Useful and interesting functions in this basic view include the CommuniCam application which actually uses the screen as the viewfinder for the camera. Of course there's the standard mobile phone fare (Contacts, Phonebook, Time, Calendar, etc.) which has been P800-ized and enhanced to be on par with all the other new features Sony Ericsson added.

The options available under the flip closed mode are all available under the flip open mode with additional selections provided. We'll go more in depth with what this phone has to offer later in the review.
