With MMS you can send color pictures, animations, and sounds. Not to mention tons more text. They range in size from 4 to 10 thousand characters, compared to the 160 characters allowed by SMS. The T300 comes with 5 preinstalled samples already in the MMS-Inbox. One shows an animated Sony Ericsson logo, another plays a song with pictures, and yet another sends an animated birthday greeting.

The T9 predictive text is a faster way to text message. Extremely common in phones now, it predicts the word you type by narrowing choices down by the more letters you type. It is a great system once you get used to it

Overall the message handling was reasonable. However, it suffers from the lack of message summary information. Only the sender and the reception date appear in the list of SMS messages. If all your messages happen to all come from the same place, you can't tell one message from another unless you read them. Other phones lets you see the first 10 to 15 characters, which is usually all you need to distinguish one message from another.
