As with the T610 before it, the T630 supports the J2ME (Java 2 Micro Edition) platform for downloadable games and applications. Users will be able to install and remove J2ME compatible games through the web or from a computer. Currently, hundreds of software applications have been created under the J2ME platform. Some are freeware while others require a fee. It is still the most popular platform on the market today.

The T630 also comes with 4 preinstalled games - Deep Abyss, VRally2, Minigolf, and Five Stones. Deep Abyss is similar to Super Mario Bros. where you are a diver on a mission to collect crystals in a maze. Five Stones is a board game, and Minigolf is self explanatory. Try to sink the ball in the hole by choosing the direction and strength of your swing. You can play against the computer or a 2nd person in Five Stones or Minigolf. Of course these games don't have much depth, but they help to kill time well enough.

The newcomer here is VRally2. Get behind the wheel of super-fast cars, and complete for the title of becoming the World Champion. Already a favorite among cell phone users, VRally2 provides hours of action-packed driving excitement.

Browse pictures on the phone, or listen to sound clips. Sony Ericsson has also kept its strong "themes" feature. Customize the entire look of the T630. From desktop pictures, to menu bars and font colors, the changes are incredible. If you get tired of a look, just create unique personalized themes in the preinstalled theme editor, or browse for more online and download it to the phone.

There is also a built in picture editor for the artists. Create or edit pictures with a variety of brush widths, shapes, and fills. Some features like emboss and frost bring Photoshop-like functionality for some added amusement value. Between the editor on the phone and the theme toolkits on the computer, those who like to create wallpapers and themes will be satisfied.

The T630 also brings back Music DJ which allows users to overlay multiple tracks and create a completely original ringtone. It comes pre-installed with sample tracks and backbeats to get people started. The tool itself is pretty intuitive, but most users will find that creating the complex, realistic-sounding ringtones sold commercially are beyond their skill level or too tedious to make it worthwhile. However, simple tunes can be composed with relative ease.
