Storage
With
35 MB of internal memory, the TM506 has more space available than some other
Sony Ericsson phones but still less than a couple of recent arrivals, including
the C902i handset with 256 MB. As a result, users may want to add to the
phone's storage space with a Memory Stick Micro, especially if they want
to store a lot of images, video and audio files.
Fortunately, this is easier with the TM506 than some other phones because
the Memory Stick Micro slot is located on the upper left side of the phone,
under a skinny tab. As a result, users do not have to turn off the phone
and remove the back and battery just to insert the Memory Stick. The Memory
Stick Micro also allows users to easily transfer files and data to another
device.
Connectivity
The USB port on the bottom of the TM506 makes it easy to transfer files
from a computer and print images directly from the phone, when the USB cable
is connected to a printer.
The TM506 supports Bluetooth version 2.0, including Handsfree Profile
(HFP) to use with handsfree car kits and Headset Profile (HSP) to pair wireless
headsets.
This handset also works with A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile)
to listen to stereo music wirelessly with A2DP-compatible accessories such
as a headset, and all three of these profiles work with many other Sony
Ericsson phones currently on the market.
Conclusion
With its solid construction and a bundle of functional features, the
TM506 is an appealing choice for users looking for a basic handset. There
are a few shortcomings, including the static that comes with higher sound
volume, the small external display and occasional dark photos and images,
but the performance and design of the TM506 are impressive overall.

The design of this phone generally makes dialing, text messaging and
other functions feel intuitive, and the combination of shiny and matte surfaces
on the exterior is attractive and modern. Despite some problems with the
camera, Sony Ericsson and T-Mobile provide a good combination of media editing
applications and fun extras such as photo frames.
Sony Ericsson also packs the TM506 with the usual basic features such
as an alarm clock and calculator, as well as more interesting ones such
as the password saver and stop watch. All these features add up to a handset
that should satisfy the needs of users looking for a well-rounded, basic
clamshell phone.
