Conclusion
Sony
Ericsson never intended to target business consumers or trend setters. In
one word the Z520a is fun, and it does a very good job at it. The innovative
and attention grabbing light effects are almost worth it alone. While the
Z520a does have some flaws, such as a low-end digital camera, it lessens
the sting with amusing features such as Panorama Shots, Frames, and PhotoDJ.
However, possibly the largest drawback is the limited memory and mediocre
LCDs. Able to play MP3s through the Media Player, unfortunately limited
to 16 MB of internal storage and no expandable memory card slot, consumers
can put all of a laughable 4-5 songs on. But the Z520a wasn't meant to be
a fully functional MP3 player, more for MP3 ringtones, real music can ring
in time with flashing lights.
One of the best features of Sony Ericsson phones is the level of customizability
given to consumers. Not only are users able to change wallpapers and ringtones,
but even the menu headers. Even the exterior is changeable through Style-Up
covers.
The addition of unrestricted Bluetooth (with HID) is a bonus as well.
Not only are users given open access to transfer customizable files to and
from the Z520a and a PC, but through HID profiles the Z520a can be turned
into a remote.
But the Z520a is uniquely designed to say the least. Most consumers will
love or hate the loop antenna. On one hand, it's unconventional, but it
makes for a good wrist strap attachment.
Best for the teenager, student, or adult with the child inside, the Z520a
ensures consumers will be entertained. From its light effects, themes, and
customizations, to its entertaining games and MP3 ringtones, consumers are
hard pressed to find a more enjoyable phone.
