Conclusion
The Sony Ericsson Z525a is a phone that is fun to use and includes an
incredible amount of features and customization options for its compact
size and affordable price. What the features may lack in depth, they make
up for in quantity and originality.
Entertaining features such as the digital camera's picture frames and
the phone's light effects that flash in time to the ringtone, in addition
to important features like its Bluetooth connectivity, make it easier to
overlook some of its flaws. From the customizable themes and menus to the
ringtone creator and Style-Up covers, this phone allows an incredible degree
of customization. With the addition of the Push to Talk option on this model,
Sony Ericsson continues to pack more into the Z525a's "styled-up" clamshell.
However, for this phone to make the leap from simply a lot of fun to
truly great, Sony Ericsson needed to address some of it fading technology
in this update. The Z525a's outdated LCDs, lack of an expandable memory
slot, limited 0.3-megapixel camera, and inability to connect to Cingular's
EDGE network leave it lagging behind many of its competitors.
While this phone may not be attractive to the business consumer or to
the heavy multimedia user, its ability to keep people connected through
messaging and PTT - along with its myriad features and flair for customization
will continue to make it a popular choice among teenagers, students, and
adults that aren't ready to strap a BlackBerry on their belt.
