Sony Ericsson Z600 Review - Internet, Storage, Connectivity and Conclusion

Internet

Sony Ericsson Z600 Camera LensThe Z600 supports GPRS (4+1) which means that downloads can now occur at a 33% faster rate than previous phones like the T68i and T310. Add to this the support for WAP 2.0, and the email subsystem discussed earlier, and you've got some real internet capabilities.

Storage

The phone has a puny 2MB storage memory. Click a few pictures, add a few games and users will have to delete some other stuff to make way for new ones. The presence of a Sony memory stick slot, let alone a SD slot, would have gone a long way in making the Z600 a worldwide success. Nevertheless, the phone has the ability to delete pre-installed items which comes handy in such situations.

Connectivity

Sony Ericsson Z600 BluetoothThe Z600 offers extensive connectivity options. Support for IrDA (Infrared) and Bluetooth is included. The phone has the ability to connect to the PC via cable as well, although users will have to buy the optional USB / serial interface cable.

The Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset (HBH-60) can also be used. We did not experience any problems when transferring information with other devices via Bluetooth.

Sony Ericsson has creatively added the ability to drive cars around via Bluetooth! Not the BMWs' and the Ferraris' but the all new limited edition Bluetooth car (CAR100) which allows users to use the technology for other purposes than just transfer of information. This adds more weight to the already superb overall value of the Z600.

Conclusion

The Z600 has already been released in many parts of the world and has continued where the T610 left off. The phone is already in the Top 5 list in many countries and this isn't surprising considering the fact that this is one the best handsets available in the market today.

It is certainly an impressive phone with a tremendous feature set and offers a true upgrade path for T68i users. However, it pales against the T610 which is significantly cheaper and also looks sexier. Nevertheless, if you are out in the market looking for a good, long lasting handset, this is a great choice.
