Samsung SGH-A437: Data Port
Reviewer: rmh on Fri Nov 09, 2007
I use a cell phone as a cell phone, do not go for the bells and whistles. When I upgraded from my old Nokia to the Samsung, I was sold on its small package and features, even though you have to go through tons of menus to switch it from melody to vibrate or even to power it down. After a week of pluging and unpluging my charger in and using my Samsung approved cabled handsfree, the pins in the data port have bent and now the data port is unusable for any purpose. ATT, my service provider said they have never seen this happen before, so they replaced the phone. now after another week's worth of use, again the data port pins have bent. I thought maybe it was how i was plugging into the data port, but not on two different phones. no monkey fisting here, I never had this problem with my old Nokia. Now no data port access, no hands free and have no way to get it resolved. I do not see me even purchasing a samsung product that has new style data ports / connections. This is an engineering / design defect that Samsung should take responsiblity for.
